Not So Mellow Yellow Challenge

Hi!
Today I am participating in the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Blog Challenge. The theme for this week (28th April 2014) is Not So Mellow Yellow. I have made a very simple card for this challenge. I used a yellow cardstock as my card base. I embossed some pattern onto a piece of ivory cardstock that is slightly smaller than my card base using an embossing folder and colour the background with Mustard Seed Distress Ink Pad using a blending tool.

Then I wrapped some twine onto the ivory cardstock and pop it up using foam tape for some added dimension. I made my own embellishment with some patterned papers, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and glossy accent. Lastly, I finished it off with some stitched lines using a white gel pen and a simple sentiment.

So here's the picture of the card I made for this challenge:

That's all the update for today.

Keep It Clean and Simple Challenge

Hi!
First of all I would like to apologize for missing last Sunday's update. I was not feeling well so I didn't managed to make a card and upload it on my blog.

I am participating in my first ever challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Challenge. The theme for the week (23rd April 2014) is called Keep It Clean and Simple. I hope that my card fits in with the theme. I have always wanted to try making simple cards or one layer cards but I often ended up adding more layers or more details. So I tried very hard to hold back this time and I hope that you like my take on clean and simple cards.

Front of the card

I used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
to add some shimmer onto the butterflies. I'm loving the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!!

The background stamp that I used is the Dandelion Frame from Hero Arts. The Distress Ink Pads used are Peeled Paint, Broken China and Mustard Seed.

Well, that's my card for today.
Thanks for stopping by and do drop by on Wednesday for another update.

Card in a Box

Hello everyone!! I have decided to try out some new cardstocks from a craftng company so right now I am busy trying to use up all my existing cardstock which I bought from Popular bookstore before I stock up new cardstocks from this particular company. I will reveal the company name once I get my hands on the cardstocks.

The reason why I'm switching out the cardstocks because sometimes it is hard to match the colours of the Popular cardstocks with my inks and patterned papers. At times, I do not like how my cards turned out because the cardstocks are not in the shade of colours that I imagined them to be.

I used to prefer the Popular cardstocks over cardstocks from any crafting companies because of the price but now I know better. There are more choices in terms of colours to choose from. Not to mention, they measures at 8.5" x 11" which enables me to make 2 standard card bases out of 1 sheet of cardstock. Compared to this, Popular cardstocks only enables me to make 1 standard card base and I am left with a lot of scraps. Sometimes too much that I do not even know how to use them all.

So I have been busying myself to use up all my current stock. I made a Card in a Box out of every colour that I have. I got this card idea from ChicnScratch.

Here are the cards I made using the idea:

 Let's rock 'n' roll!

 Take flight

 Up ,up and away!

 You're sew dang cute!

From the heart

 Celebrate

 Bee mine

Cool chick

 Time to celebrate

@ cup of thanks

I am planning to give away 3 of these projects for free. If you would like to take one home, please leave a comment on my blog telling me which is your favourite that you will like to have.

That's all the update for today.
Thanks for stopping by!

Well This Is Embarrassing...

You must be wondering why this post is titled "Well This Is Embarrassing", right? Well, this is because I stopped posting my 12 Days of Christmas card series at Card #9. Actually I completed all my 12 Christmas cards. Just that my old disease kicks in and I got lazy. Hahaha!!! Typical me!

I have new posts which I would like to update this weekend but because I have not completed posting about the Christmas card series, that is why I am writing this post today. I needed a closure before I can start on something new. I hope that you guys do not mind that it came late. Here's the remaining 3 cards that I have made for my 12 Days of Christmas Card series 2013. *Embarrassed*

12 Days of Christmas Card #10

12 Days of Christmas Card #11

12 Days of Christmas Card #12

I apologize for the lack of narration. Since I made the cards so long ago, I cannot really remember what supplies I used for each of the cards. I promise I will do better in my next post.

Thanks for stopping by!
