Fun with Watercolor

Hi!
I have seen a lot of crafters using the watercolor technique and I have always wanted to try it out. I finally got my hands on the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. The cardstock is really thick and it has a smooth side as well as a textured side so you can have really different effect depending on which side of the cardstock you use.

So I made three cards using the watercolor technique and I tell you I am loving this technique. I have always been bad with watercolor since my schooling years and I believe I still suck at it now but I am sure I can improve over time because it is such a fun technique.

And the result wasn't too bad either, I guess? What do you think?

The first 2 cards, I stamped the images in Stazon Jet Black ink and colour in the images using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads. I pressed the ink pads onto the craft sheet and pick up the inks using a wet paint brush.

The third card, I stamped the flower image using Versamark and embossed the image using white embossing powder. Then I pressed the Distress Inkpads onto the craft sheet and pick up the ink using a wet paint brush. I just randomly colour the whole cardstock.

Below are the supplies used in creating these cards:

First 2 cards
Simply Sketched Stamp Set by Stampin' Up
Doily Lace Border Punch by Martha Stewart
Postage Border Punch by EK Success
Stazon Jet Black Ink
Broken China Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Festive Berries Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Mustard Seed Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Frayed Burlap Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Peacock Feathers Tim Holtz Distress Ink

Third Card
Jumbo Peony Stamp by Stampendous!
Zing! White Embossing Powder by American Crafts
Versamark ink
Stazon Jet Black Ink
Mustard Seed Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Evergreen Bough Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Peacock Feathers Tim Holtz Distress Ink

Actually I have purchased some other products from Simon Says Stamp during their Mother's Day promotion and I even recorded a craft haul video to share with you what other products I have purchased but I am too embarrased to post it up because the quality and performance is really bad. Maybe when I have learned some video editing skills and improved my narration skills, I will share them with you.

That's all for the update today.
Thank you for stopping by and do drop by for another update this Sunday.
