Long Overdue Update

Hi!
I was supposed to have a new post up last Thursday but I was tied up with work. I have to bring work home and worked till late at night because I was going outstation the next day so I need to settle my pending jobs before going off.

After my trip, I was caught up with work again that I have to work on last weekend too. I spent the little time I got left of my weekend doing nothing but laying in bed and catching up on my TV shows that I have recorded previously.

That is why I only update my blog today. As mentioned in my Shake It post, I will make another similar card so here's how it looks like:-

This time I made one using the Star Parade die from Simon Says Stamp and instead of sequins, I used die cut stars in the shaker portion.

A close up look at the shaker portion of the card. The stars inside is not showing up very well. I think that's because I die cut the stars using the same color cardstocks as the colors in the patterned paper.

Recently I just received my Distress Markers which I have ordered some time ago and I can't wait to play with them. I stamped Ellie from Tiddly Inks Ellie Says Happy Birthday stamp set onto some Tim Holtz watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black Ink and colored the image in using Distress Markers.

After coloring, I fussy cut the image out and stuck onto my card. I kept the card very simple because I wanted Ellie to be the focal point of this card.

Here's a closer look at the card. I wasn't too happy with the coloring. It was my first time using Distress Markers for watercoloring but I am sure that I will get the hang of it soon. I just need to practise more.

Next is a project that I made for last week's Simon Says Monday Blog Challenge but I didn't have time to post it on my blog and link it to join the challenge. Anyway since I have already made it, might as well post it up too. Last week's theme was to create something from scratch. So I made this matchbox from some cardstock and using the Envelope Punch Board from Stampin' Up!. I got this idea from Dawn Griffith over at Youtube.

I only decorated the front with some patterned paper, die cut a tag using Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags die and stamped the greetings using the coordinating stamp set Tag Sayings from Simon Says Stamp.

I just put my charm bracelet in the box for photography purposes but you can put whatever you want inside (chocolates, candies, gift cards etc).

Well, that's all for the update today.
Thanks for stopping by and do drop by for another update this Wednesday.
