Color Coordinates Challenge

Hi!
I know I have been missing in action for a very long time. I have been busy with work and all that but I am now back and eager to share what I have been creating.

I am participating in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and this week's theme is Color Coordinates.

Here's a look of my card:

I am currently experimenting on how to photograph my cards better. I borrowed a DSLR from a very close friend of mine. She was so sweet to lend me her camera without giving a second thought (Thanks, dear!). I am totally clueless when it comes to photography so I did some studying through Youtube and got some tips from Debby Hughes. She was so kind to point out to me the posts she had done on photography and it was a great help.

I am still learning so I might not have everything figured out yet but I do like how the photos turned out. Do leave me a comment on which picture you think looks better and I will try to achieve that for my subsequent projects. (Provided my friend still willing to lend me her camera. Otherwise it will take me ages to get one myself)

Anyway, coming back to this week's challenge, the color coordinates are Black, Orange Peel, Green Apple, Lavender and Slate. All these colors are from Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Inks. I first stamped the bats border stamp from Reverse Confetti's Spooky Cuties Stamps set in Slate, Orange Peel, Green Apple and Lavender. Then I cut out the pattern using the tag die from Stampin' Up's Chalk Talk Framelits. I also cut out another tag using the same die from some SSS Black cardstock.

I used the Frankenstein bird image from Fresh Squeezed Stamps' Frightfully Delightful in SSS Green Apple ink. I colored his beak using Copics. The sentiment is from the same Frightfully Delightful stamp set and was die cut out using the banner die from Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Journaling die set. For the Slate layer, I die cut it out using Lawn Fawn's Large Stitched Journaling Die. The actual size of the die is 4" x 6" but I wanted it to be 4" x 5 1/4" so I did some partial die cutting to cut it into the desired size.

Lastly, I finished it off by applying some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen onto the bat image and also the Frankenstein.

That's all for the update today.
Thanks for stopping by and do drop by this Wednesday for another update.
